Hugh Goldie
Efik is a language or dialect of the Ibibio-Efik linguistic continuum spoken in Nigeria. Efik was first written with Hugh Goldie's spelling in the 19th and early 20th centuries. In the 1930s, the Goldie spelling was replaced by the spelling called the New Efik Orthography of Ida C. Ward and R.F.G. Adams.
